In decorating the reception space, the bride and groom were inspired by their LA home, where they have built a “magical urban garden complete with fairy lights and touches of Eastern zen.” The bride says she set out to make the space feel like their own backyard. “We collaborated with The Vintage Stockroom to pay homage to the naturalist movement of the Victorian era, in the spirit of the wild botanists that traveled the globe from the Americas to Australia and everywhere in between,” shares the bride. This old world charm inspired the style of the reception dinner, with the bride and groom using chesterfield couches, vintage decorations and classic music to create this feel.
The design brief for their reception was rustic, eclectic, 1900’s botanist, romantic and timeless. American Industrialism meets English Botanist.
Their colour palette came to life as the forest greens, interesting fabrics and vintage elements tied in seamlessly with the surroundings.
Their wedding ceremony was hosted at The Chapel Montville, a small chapel in town. The wedding reception was set at Secrets On The Lake, a property on the Sunshine Coast.
Catering on the day was by Sarah Glover of The Wild Kitchen. The bride and groom came across Sarah Glover who is considered a “wild adventure chef” and who cooks over an open fire with fresh, locally sourced produce.
“The most memorable moments are things you could never plan for,” says the bride. “Enjoy every second.”
